Gioia Keeney Resource Center--Our library has a collection of over 10,000 items including books, videotapes, DVD's, and software. A Dell mini lab with 12 additional computers is a recent addition to our library.

Library Schedule

Students in grades 5K-4 visit the library each week for a library lesson or story and to check out books. Grades 5-8 come weekly to the library for a library lesson, research activity and to check out books. The Library is open until 4:00 each day for AR tests, checking out books, and research.

Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is available in the library and in each classroom for students to take tests on books they have read and earn points toward various rewards during the year. Students in Grades 5-8 will be given a test grade in Computer Class based on the number of points they have earned in a quarter. 25 points =100 test grade 10 points = 90 test grade 5 points = 80 test grade 2 points = 70 test grade 1 point = 60 test grade Individual teachers in grades 5K-4 will set up class requirements. Quarter Rewards from PTC will be announced later.

Research is new emphasis

Students in all classes will have a research activity each week when they come to the library. AR reading is encouraged as well. We currently have quizzes available for more than 8,000 titles. The tree house is a popular reading retreat for students.

New Mini Lab

12 Dell computers, acquired from St. John's in Ennis, are in the library for a research Mini Lab to enhance learning and research at our school.
